[Code B:Bring it On] [Private, Solo]

Post by Tirdelck on Fri Aug 23, 2013 2:49 am

Tirdelck gunned his Jetpack at maximum speed towards the coordinate of the Kyrean broadcast center he'd been provided at the Neotopian mission tower, just minutes after the emergency announcement issued for help. Tirdelck had seen Enforcers at work, and if these units had been subverted by the terrorist force, this assignment would not only be a dire challenge, but an extremely risky one, both for himself, and the civilian lives at risk. Whatever he might think about the current world order, innocence was universal, and presuming civilians to be contradictory to justice was about as ignorant as what Einstein did for DC electric. He hoped the Enforcers on-site would provide him with a certain degree of conventional weaponry, otherwise depending on merely his senses and abilities would be rather stressful. Nor was he confident in them, but he'd try either way. These thoughts ran through his head in defiance of the extreme turbulence at the speed Tirdelck's Jetpack was capable of. His hair was vibrating so quickly the strands were not noticeable as a shimmer of matter. Tirdelck did not feel any physical discomfort.

Noting the steel and glass facades of urban Kyre move into view, Tirdelck did nothing to reduce the throttle, instead allowing the jetpack to continue at maximum speed towards one of the landmark buildings in the city center, made of two semi-circular buildings, of stunning architecture surrounding a central courtyard. To an outside observer, Tirdelck would seem to be overshooting his target, but just as he was a few meters away from the spot directly above the vicinity of the building, the twin gas signatures emanating from his jetpack reversed, bringing his body to a bone-jolting halt. A few spasms of the massive vibration shivered through Tirdelck's body, and he winced at it, more from irritation than pain. Gradually he descended onto the northern main road facing the building's entrance, here a cluster of Enforcers were placed. Lightly performing a textbook landing, Tirdelck gasped for breath, still shocked from the amount of G-force as a result of the thrust reversal.

Tirdelck flashed his ID card at the nearest Enforcer, explaining he was here to help. The Enforcer scrutinized him skeptically, taking in Tirdelck's rather frail build but also his futuristic-looking appliances, including his jetpack, still spewing superheated vapor. "Look, I'm just volunteering to help. Letting me try take those terrorists down won't hurt." Tirdelck's tone was firm and imposing, although rather monotonous. Still dubious, the Enforcer shrugged, saying "Alright, you got the clearance, but mind you, if you lose any of these gizmos, its gonna cost you taxpayer's money, and you gonna regret that." Leading him to a sleek-looking truck around fifteen meters long with an array of radar dishes mounted atop, the Enforcer climbed into the cab, muttered a few words into an intercom and retrieved a waterproof sealed bag, placing it in Tirdelck's hands.

A brief curl of his lips did more than indicate Tirdelck's satisfaction at the weaponry. He could already speculate on the kind of power he was being provided directly from the Enforcer's stash. "No blueprints?" Asked Tirdelck, though he was already anticipating the answer. "The original ones are classified material and the bureaucratic barriers will take some days to go through. As for the locations of the security devices that have been turned against us, well, the head of security is up there." The Enforcer gestured to the top floor of the shorter building. Tirdelck's heart fell, knowing the difficulty of his task had been increased tenfold. But that did little to decrease his determination. "No more intel for me?" Asked Tirdelck.

"Afraid not, sir, you're on your own." With a shake of hands, Tirdelck vaulted the building perimeter, striding into the entrance of the higher building, all senses on alert.

That was, at least, how it looked like to the Enforcer on duty. In truth, he was doing something else in front, his body hiding his hands rummaging into the bag of weaponry from view. He felt a couple of cylindrical objects with a pin at the top, presumably sonic grenades, which he stowed in his latchpack, and a metallic long object that felt like a blaster. Useless for Tirdelck, who tied the bag to the side of his latchpack. After, of course, withdrawing a earbud and attached mike from it, inserting it into his ear. He wondered why the Enforcer hadn't introduced the radio to him.

"Anyone there?" muttered Tirdelck into the radio, not familiar with military terminology. "Roger, Enforcer on standby." He noted the corridor in which he entered was strewn with furniture as well as a few bullet shells, with corresponding grooves in the ceilings. There had not been murder here, but merely use of firearms for fear. The layout of the building was a simple one, with one single corridor branching off to the left and right of lobby entrance. Having secured the left section, he retraced his steps to the right, noting the lack of any security devices, until, that is, he arrived at the emergency fire escape at the end of the corridor, where a rather conspicuous ceiling-mounted gun was poking out from the corner of the ceiling. Presumably, the plan was for the gun to neutralize any threats in the event the building was evacuated through the fire escape. A plan that had backfired. Fortunately, he was out of range of the gun.

Removing a rather heavy looking weapon hanging from beneath his latchpack, and lining up the sights, Tirdelck's index fingers squeezed the double triggers, letting loose an invisible wave of radiation that rendered the ceiling armament useless. He entered the fire escape, looking up at the endless stretch of steel staircase, attached as a separate structure to the eastern wall of the building. He knew blasting every single security device along the way to the top of a building wasn't a viable method, with the hostages' lives at risk. That meant rushing to the top, securing the hostages with the risk of he himself being sandwiched by any terrorists which had been in the lower floors. It was a tactical nightmare, Tirdelck decided as he muttered into his mike "First floor's clear of terrorists, you can use it as your operation base." "Ten-four.", came the reply.

Entering the staircase and bracing himself for the long trek upwards, Tirdelck cursed how the elevator was eliminated as a choice as the terrorists would anticipate his arrival. There was an advantage, however, for the fire escape would be free of any kind of security, be it fire doors, cameras, ceiling guns, self-detonating explosives, pressure pads and what not. Rushing up, wincing at the clangs he made on the unwieldy steel staircase, Tirdelck decided to forgo tradition. "Will bypass securing off building, flying up to thirtieth floor to secure hostages." "Sir, that is not advisable, you might be sandwiched by the terrorists if you do not approach the building bottom up." "I'd rather not the hostages get killed when they detect my entrance, its gotta be a surprise move." What commenced was static, and Tirdelck knew the Enforcer in the command vehicle had no retorts. Climbing over the railing, he gunned his jetpack cautiously, watching the floors zoom by until eventually he was at the top of the building, where the helipad was located. Jamming his legs between the railing bars and dangling his hands over the railing, he rolled back the throttle on his jetpack and climbed over.

"Am at top floor." Muttered Tirdelck into his mike as he peeked through the window, along the deserted corridor. "Copy that." That meant the hostages were in one of the many rooms. Tirdelck groaned inwardly, knowing he would have to face more security devices. He then placed his hand on the knob of the door leading into the building from the fire escape. Thankfully there were no auto doors associated with the fire escape, which meant no sensors to blast. Bracing himself, Tirdelck entered.

Sighting a bunch cameras a little distance down the corridor, Tirdelck decided he'd check out the few rooms around him first before disabling the devices ahead. The first three on both sides were all clear, but then Tirdelck's ears heard a feminine whimper originating a few rooms up. He saw a pair of eyes, overflowing with fear stare through a window- directly at him. Tirdelck trusted that it was a hostage, not a hostile, and put his fingers to his lips, his heartbeat increasing at the sight of the blatant expression of shock of the man's face. The course of action for him was clear. Incapacitating civilians, for him, was nowhere near illegal as long as he saved them in the end. No pain, no death, clean mission.

Backpedalling towards the fire escape, Tirdelck withdrew a sonic grenade provided by the Enforcers from his latchpack, pulled the pin and rolled it towards the room where the hostages were supposedly located. Turning, he sprinted towards the fire escape door, uncertain on the sonic grenade's detonation delay timeframe. Slamming the door hard, he waited, heart pounding.

The vibration from the door was enough to jolt a few of his joints out of place, but Tirdelck held on firm, knowing a burst of the door would be fatal to his mission- he would be rendered unconscious by the sonic waves gone crazy within the building. Within a minute, the waves had died down, and Tirdelck moved inside, loosing a deadly wave from his Gamma Blaster at the ceiling-mounted gun he'd previously spotted. The cameras had already been cracked beyond recognition from the sonic blast, but the reinforced steel barrel of the gun was unscathed. Not any more, at least, it functions were so horrendously destructed it wasn't even a gun any more. Just a piece of very expensive scrap metal.

Noting that the door to the hostage room, along with a few others close to the sonic grenade had imploded upon themselves, Tirdelck quickly set to action, knowing the terrorist force below the top floor would be converging upon him any minute. Knowing his abilities and that he only had one shot at eliminating the terrorists permanently, he dragged them roughly into a pile in the corner of the room, or rather kicked and slapped them with whatever tools he could find, and capped his AFCs onto his fingers, ten thimble like Atomic Force Compressors, his pet weapons. Clenching his fingers and entering an elevated state of concentration, he loosed a beam of liquid nitrogen at the pile of bodies- which turned into frozen corpses. Frozen was an understatement, for nitrogen liquefied at negative 210 celsius. Staggering from the exhaustion, Tirdelck ventured to nudge the hostages, waking them from the sonic blast. Not an easy task, for sonic grenades had efficiency ranging from lethal ones which shattered organic nerve centers to riot control grenades which caused unconsciousness of up to eight hours. Looking at the labels of the grenades in his bag, Tirdelck noticed they were for half-hour intervals. An unbelievable stroke of luck, but it would still be hard waking them.

Knowing his time was running out, Tirdelck decided to make a crude but effective decision. Removing what looked like a cylindrical water tumbler from his latchpack, Tirdelck twiddled a few knobs in its side and drenched all of the hostages in freezing cold water. To an outsider, the water flowing out seemed to be a waterfall, but the tumbler was actually an ultra-high pressure compressor which contained ten times as much water in its liquid form. It also functioned, of course, as a chiller and heater.

Seeing the hostages recover from their slumber, Tirdelck said "Alright people, if you value your lives, rush to the fire escape and run right down to the first floor, where there'll be Enforcers." He noted the presence of Enforcers amongst the hostages, and knew the highly-trained officers would marshal the escape. For him, the easy part of his mission was over.

Rushing out of the room, relieved that the other terrorists hadn't discovered the demise of their comrades, or if they were not even existent, Tirdelck leaped off the railing of the fire escape and gunned his jetpack, speeding downwards at the lower building, where the terrorists were holding out. Not for long if I can help it, thought Tirdelck, his brows a crease of determination.
